CLASS INFORMATION

Our core programs run Monday through Friday with before and after care options available. Families can choose from attending 3, 4 or 5 days. Tucson Community School's mission is to provide a creative learning experience emphasizing outdoor play and family participation in a safe environment which respects each child's uniqueness and individual learning style. Within this learning environment, staff are careful to integrate principles of Developmentally Appropriate Practice in conjunction with the Arizona Early Learning Standards in our unique play-based approach to learning.

Toddler Program 8:30am – 12:00pm
Preschool Program 8:30am – 2:30pm
The school is divided into three groups of children according to age, each with a teacher, an assistant(s) and helping parents.
Enrollment for a minimum of three days per week is recommended for children to feel the full embrace of our TCS community. A protein & nutrient rich snack is provided.* School enrollment is limited to keep group ratios small.

The guidelines for group division are as follows, but can vary depending on enrollment:

Toddler Classroom:
Age: 24 months by September 1 of the enrollment year
Class Size: 10-12 children per day
Minimum: 3 days per week

Preschool Classroom: (Young PS & Multi-Age)
Age: 3-5 years old
Class Size: 15-18 children per day
Minimum: 3 days per week

** Children must be potty trained to enroll at TCS.
Upon completion of a selected morning program, the afternoon program can be added to create a full day experience for your child. The full day provides children an opportunity to learn and play with children from other classrooms while engaging in a variety of enrichment activities. This program includes lunchtime conversations, a period of rest or quiet time and extended learning opportunities through playful interactions. Parents provide a sack lunch.

Extended Care: 7:30am – 8:30am/ 12:00pm – 5:30pm
Our early morning and afternoon programs have a limited amount of space and are prioritized for families that have both parents working outside of the home or a single working parent. These programs provide “child care” for children who are in need of extended hours outside of our core programs.

TCS Children have the opportunity for continued playtime in the same, comfortable environment with our professional, caring teachers/staff while you work or run errands. Snack is provided.*
