Diana Hill - Director
Mrs. Hill became director of the school in 2000. Prior to that she was a parent and board member at TCS. Diana received her B.S. from the University of Vermont in elementary education. She has been active with Young Audiences, Foster Care Review Board and has worked in the Catalina Foothills School District. Currently church choir, Girl Scouts, school committees and reading fill her extra time.
Reena Mahoney - Staff Assistant, Treasurer
Mrs. Mahoney joined the TCS staff in 1984 after having been a parent at the school and a TCS Board of Directors President. Reena has taken computer course work at Pima College. She enjoys making crafts, reading and spending time at the family cabin in the mountains.
Cheryl Lazaroff - Assistant Director, Teacher of 3-year-olds and Extended Day
Mrs. Lazaroff began teaching at TCS in 1977. She received her B.A. degree from the College of Notre Dame, Belmont, California. She has a lifetime Child Development Programs Certificate following studies at Goucher and Haverford Colleges. Cheri enjoys spending much of her time outdoors hiking and observing nature.
Barbara George - Assistant Teacher of 3-Year-Olds
Mrs. George, a past TCS parent, started teaching in 1998.. She has a B.S. from the University of Arizona in Rehabilitation. She was in Up with People and has worked as a director of an after school recreation program involving children with special needs. Barbara enjoys animals, camping and hiking with friends and family.
Barbara Bounds Solot - Assistant Teacher of 3-year-olds
Mrs. Solot began teaching at TCS in 1997. Barbara was a TCS parent and board member. She graduated Summa Cum Laude in Interior Design from the University of Arizona and is working on her CDA. She enjoys children, books, interior space planning and design, as well as resale shopping.
Kathy Sjogren, Teacher of B Group (East Room), APM and Extended Day
Mrs. Sjogren is looking forward to teaching once again at T.C.S. after having been away for eleven years. Kathy received a B.A. in Spanish and Latin American Studies from the U of A in 1978, and a Child Development Associate certification in 1991. Kathy and her husband Jon have one son who is in his 3rd year at N.A.U.. Kathy enjoys walking in the desert and learning about nature; flying with her son; and writing science curriculum.
Sylvi Gonzalez, Assistant Teacher of B Group and APM
Mrs. Gonzalez starts her 1st year as a faculty member at TCS although she is no stranger around here. She has been involved with the school for 2 years and her daughter, Laura, is a new alumni. Sylvi received her B.A. in Physical Education and Recreation from Whittier College in California. She worked with high school aged children as an Athletic Trainer until meeting her husband, a coach, and becoming a stay at home mom. Sylvi and her husband, Bobby, have 2 children; 5 year old Laura and 18 month old Josiah. She loves to read, take photos, scrapbook, travel and spend time with her family and friends.
Kathleen Bindschadler - Teacher of Kindergartners
Mrs. Bindschadler joined TCS in 1999. Katie received her B.S. in Elementary/Special Education from the University of Wyoming and her M. Ed. from the University of Arizona in 1993. She taught school in Yuma, the Catalina Foothills School District and kindergarten at a local private school. Katie enjoys swimming, teaching aqua aerobics, quilting and sewing and reading.
Susan Whiting - Teacher of Kindergartners
Ms. Whiting starts her second year as kindergarten teacher. In the past seven years she has served the school as a parent, a board member, a substitute teacher, an extended day teacher and a summer school teacher. She received her Bachelor's degree in education at the University of Arizona in 1994. She taught kindergarten at Gale Elementary as well as Wheeler Elementary, and has substituted in the elementary grades for TUSD and CFSD. Susan and her husband, Henry Hill, have two children, Morgan-10 and Wyatt-8 who currently attend Miles ELC. They all enjoy games, reading, and just being together.
